Clapp Library Master Plan, Wellesley College
Wellesley, MassachusettsThe Clapp Library at Wellesley College is a building from 1910 which underwent several renovations and additions over the course of its lifetime.
MPdL Studio evaluated the feasibility and the potential cost of incorporating a newly integrated set of services and resources into the library as well as improving the building’s defunct circulation and problematic wayfinding and orientation. A series of design and planning studies were produced investigating the various functions being distributed and interconnected throughout the various levels of the library, capitalizing on existing library features, strengthening the connection between Clapp and the campus, and thus bettering faculty support and student academic excellence.
